Wet waste (RDF/AF)

CO2-intensive sectors such as the cement industry are actively looking for alternative combustibles. Some of the materials used here are Refuse-Derived Fuels (RDF) or **Alternative Fuels (AF) such as plastic, wood, paper/cardboard, textiles, etc. This type of combustible has become relatively expensive when dry, but is still quite cost-effective when wet because it has to be dried before burning.

In the cement industry, cooling the burnt cement produces enough hot air to dry wet waste. To that end, the approximately 200°C hot air is mixed with outside air and cooled to 90°C. It can then be used in our KUVO to dry the wet waste and thus produce a low-cost, non-fossil fuel.
