Which alternatives to fossil fuels does the cement and lime industry have? This is exactly what the Cemfuel Conference in Dublin is all about.

Our Sales Manager Thomas Kimmenauer is there to discuss with the approximately 180 participants how RDF (residue-derived fuels) and SRF (solid recovered fuels) can be used as alternative fuels for the cement industry to replace fossil fuels and increase the thermal substitution rate (TSR).

Among others, he met with Gary Rock, Taskforce Alternative Fuels at CRH Group (photo).

The drying of RDF/SRF is a key element for its use as a substitute fuel - and thus also for the decarbonisation of one of the most emission-intensive industries.

Our KUVO belt dryer is ideally suited for this type of drying, as it utilises the waste heat from the ongoing process and cools it down to a homogeneous 90° C. This means that nothing melts during drying. This means that nothing can melt or catch fire during drying. For more information on drying RDF as an alternative fuel please have a look at this article.
