How can you replace the drum of an ecoDry drum dryer if it is partially located under a decanter building? And how do you ensure that it can be removed again at some point if necessary? By constructing it in two parts!
Assembly and disassembly considered right from the start
To enable assembly and possible later dismantling of the new ecoDry drum under the decanter building, we produced it in two parts from the outset and transported it to our customer. The two parts were only assembled into one dryer drum on site.
The capacity of this ecoDry system is 36 t/h of water evaporation, making it an ecoDry system with the largest realised water evaporation. The drum has a diameter of 5.5 metres and is 16.5 metres long.
Replacing a SWISS COMBI ecoDry dryer drum in two parts
In order to minimise disruption to our customer's production, we completed the replacement work between Christmas and New Year.
Of course, it wasn't quite as quick as in the video, but we finished on time and our customer was able to start the new year with a new drum. Where there's a will, there's always a way!
